Challenge: With the conflict of schedule people are having difficulty registering on-site and having to queue in long lines to be able to register.
Solution: To create an app to help people register or fix problems with their details. To make it easy for them and not be dissuaded from voting. We also added a feature to know about candidates who will run for election to help voters make a better decision on voting for candidates.
My Role:
UX designer designing an app for Filbar’s from conception to delivery.
Target Audience
I conducted interviews and created empathy maps to understand the users I was designing for and their needs. A primary user group identified through research was young adults who are first-time voters and working adults who have a busy schedule

User Journey Map
Mapping Martin's user journey revealed how helpful it would be for users to check and edit their scheduled appointments.
This user group confirmed initial assumptions about Voting registration, but research
also revealed that time was a great limiting factor as to why people were dissuaded and information about the National and Local candidates.
Paper Wireframes
Taking the time to draft iterations of each app screen on paper ensured that the elements that made it to digital wireframes would be well-suited to address user pain points. For the home screen, I prioritized having an option to switch local dialects to help users understand more what are the information inside the app.

Digital Wireframes
Creating this app with the goal is to encourage more people to register and exercise their right to vote. Making the layout straightforward to understand

Usability Study: Findings
I conducted one round of usability study. Findings from the study helped guide the designs from wireframes to mockups.
Round 1
-The majority want to have an additional feature to edit the schedule
Round 2
-Able to have protection for underage people to access scheduling
Round 3
-Add features or options to have on purpose of appointment
-The majority want to have an additional feature to edit the schedule

Round 3

Mockups
Added option to have the appointment be edited or rescheduled and be able to check your scheduled appointment

Responsive Design
Creating a responsive design with varying sizes we prioritize the three main buttons to be bigger and on top to be able to see. On the Web added an additional feature to show news as its size can accommodate more information.

What I learned:
While designing the Voter’s App, I learned that the first ideas for the app can change and be improved along the way. Usability studies and feedback are a good way to influence each iteration of the app’s design. Adding usability like being able to change the language to help users understand better the information on the app.
Next steps:
Next steps:
Conduct another round of usability studies to check and validate if the pain points users experienced have been addressed and fixed.
Conduct more user research to determine any new areas of need.
